Sin Chronicle delayed to Spring 2022

Originally intending to launch 15 December 2021, Sin Chronicle will instead be delayed to Spring 2022. The news was announced at a developer’s letter livestream, promising improvements based off user feedback from the closed beta. You can check out our own closed beta impressions here.

The primary focus of the game, namely the story, can be considered universally praised, scoring an average of 78% for its story, setting, the permanent choices and the resulting consequences from said choices. The characters were also praised, but the full release will see more tweaks, such as the lighting on the models. A jukebox-like function is planned so that players can simply enjoy the music.

The battles and actual character growth systems did not get the same glowing feedback, criticizing the lack of actual strategy and difficulty to train new units. For the latter, there will be an EXP bonus system to enable new additions catch up faster to the main roster. Skip functions, weapon upgrades, will see further improvements. An in-built rerolling system also appears to be on the table.

Raids got the most severe criticism considering the limited play time and the fact you had to fight for the finishing blow. Time constraints will be loosened, and more solo friendly elements will be added besides encouraging more co-op play when the time comes, among other things.

Now that it’s been delayed, Sin Chronicle is getting a projected release window for end of March 2022, if not any earlier during the “Spring 2022” estimation. There’s no indication that there will be a global release, so fans will still have to stay tuned.
