Wired Productions and developer Caged Element have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks will launch digitally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on May 21. A physical edition for PlayStation 5 will arrive later on July 16. The game first hit PC via Steam in Early Access on August 6, 2024, before receiving its full release on May 22, 2025.

Speed Freeks is a multiplayer combat racing game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players can race and customize a range of vehicles including buggies, tanks, and helicopters, using both speed and weapons to get ahead of the competition.

The game also includes a Creation Workshop, which lets players build, share, and download custom maps using a level editor that features over 400 assets. Maps can be built solo or together with friends in real time. Speed Freeks includes several modes. Deff Rally is an 8v8 combat race that mixes speed and aggression, ending in a final sprint to the finish line. Kill Konvoy has teams protecting their own giant mechanical Stompa while trying to take down the enemy’s, with matches turning into full chaos as they near the end.

Each vehicle in the game handles differently, giving players room to find a style that works for them. Players can also unlock gear and customize their rides as they progress through the game.
