The PC port will support English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese languages. The game was originally released on PlayStation 4 with localization handled by NIS America, though it remains unclear whether Shiravune will use the existing translation or create a new one.
Utawarerumono: ZAN is a musou-style action game developed by Aquaplus. Players can expect more than 80 songs, including remixed tracks from the original soundtrack. The game features a team-based system where players can build a squad of four characters and switch between them during combat. The battle system centers around a resource called Zeal, which powers Chain Attacks, triggers Overzeal mode, and executes Final Strikes.

The game retells the story of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, the second entry in the Utawarerumono series, but presents it in a more straightforward action format rather than the visual novel style of the original. Players follow Haku, who awakens in an unfamiliar world and builds relationships with various characters while learning about the land of Yamato.
