Aquaplus has announced a new mobile game based on the Utawarerumono series. Utawarerumono Lost Flag will be released for iOS and Android in 2019.
Utawarerumono is a JRPG IP that’s been around for a long time. It first appeared on the PC in 2002 and later became more prominent on Sony’s PlayStation consoles. Before this announcement, the latest game in the series was actually a remake of the original game for the PS4.
We were genuinely surprised to see that Aquaplus decided to make Utawarerumono Lost Flag a mobile title. It’s confirmed that the game will be a free-to-play title with “item-based transactions”. In fact, those who pre-register for the game will be receiving jewels as bonuses. This confirms that the game will have a gacha-based system.
Aquaplus has also revealed the characters for Utawarerumono Lost Flag, which are male lead Akuta and heroine Minagi. According to Famitsu, the game will also feature characters from previous Utawarerumono titles such as Eruruu, Benawi, Kuon, and Rulutieh.
