The official Nintendo eShop listing for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on Nintendo Switch 2 has confirmed new details about the game’s performance. Players will be able to choose between two modes: 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, or 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. This flexibility lets fans decide whether they want higher visual fidelity or smoother gameplay.
In addition to these settings, the Switch 2 version will also benefit from reduced loading times. This promises to make exploration across the Liberl Kingdom faster and more seamless.
Affordable Upgrade and Free Demo

Owners of the existing Nintendo Switch version will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for $1 USD, offering an affordable way to enjoy the improved visuals and performance. A free demo is also live across all platforms. Progress from the demo will carry over to the full game, allowing players to continue their adventure without losing progress.
Revisiting the Liberl Kingdom

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky begins in the Liberl Kingdom, a small but proud nation within the continent of Zemuria. The story follows Estelle Bright and her adopted brother Joshua Bright as they work to become Bracers, protectors who dedicate themselves to serving the public. Their path, however, soon becomes tangled with a larger conspiracy threatening the safety of their homeland.
Modern Enhancements for a Classic RPG

This remake will not only update visuals but also introduce new voice acting, bringing fresh life to the game’s beloved characters. The battle system will feature improvements inspired by the Calvard arc, blending partial action mechanics with the series’ traditional turn-based roots.
The Trails in the Sky trilogy has long been celebrated on PC, and enhanced Evolution ports with voice acting were previously released for PlayStation Vita in Asia. With the upcoming remake, fans worldwide will finally experience a definitive version of the first chapter.
Worldwide Release
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will launch worldwide on September 19, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
