Nihon Falcom has confirmed that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, joining its PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC versions on September 19, 2025.
Alongside the news, a free “Prologue” demo is now available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Switch in Japan.
Switch 2 Version and Upgrade Pack

The Switch 2 version will be digital-only worldwide, with no physical release planned. It will feature improved resolution, faster loading times, and smoother frame rates compared to the standard Switch edition.
Players who already own the Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 version through an “Upgrade Pack” priced at $1 or 150 yen. To access the upgraded version, both the base Switch game and the pack are required.
What the Demo Offers

The new “Prologue” demo lets fans play through the game’s opening chapters. Progress made in the trial will carry over into the full release, giving players a seamless transition at launch.

The demo introduces Estelle Bright and Joshua Bright as they begin their journey to become Bracers, protectors of the Liberl Kingdom. Early dungeons, quests, and a boss fight are included, providing a strong taste of the adventure ahead.
