After nearly two years, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon is officially coming to the West. Originally released in Japan in September 2024, publisher NIS America has confirmed the global launch for January 15, 2026.
To mark the announcement, a brand-new trailer titled Unprecedented Mission has been released, giving fans a fresh look at this highly anticipated JRPG.
A Celestial Twist in the Zemurian Saga
The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon follows Van Arkride and the Arkride Solutions team’s return in a new chapter where the stakes are higher than ever. As Zemuria gears up for its first space mission, a mysterious request from the Marduk Institute pulls Van and key allies into a conflict that could change their world forever.
Familiar faces rejoin the fray, including Rean Schwarzer from Trails of Cold Steel, Father Kevin Graham from Trails in the Sky, and Rufus Albarea from Trails into Reverie. Despite their different paths, they share the same goal: to uncover what lies beyond the horizon.
Sharpened Combat and Custom Dungeons
The gameplay sees major upgrades as the series nears its final arc. New mechanics such as Shard Commands, Awakening boosts, and the time-manipulating Zone of Control (Z.O.C.) bring deeper tactics to every battle.
Players can also dive into the Grim Garten, a dungeon designed for custom party exploration. Here, characters from across the Trails universe join forces to take down Ouroboros’ looming threat.
Limited Edition Bundle Announced
NIS America also revealed a Limited Edition bundle for collectors. It includes:
- Deluxe Edition of the game
- Art book
- Mini soundtrack
- SteelBook case
- Grim Timekeeper acrylic clock
All items come packaged in a premium Collector’s Box. Pre-orders will go live soon through the NIS America official store.
The game will launch on January 15, 2026, and fans can experience the game on their preferred platform. The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon launches on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG), PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
