The latest Street Fighter 6 update has given fans plenty to cheer about. Between the return of a fan-favorite fighter and the debut of summer-themed outfits, the game is enjoying a noticeable boost in activity.

Sagat Returns with Style
Street Fighter 6 saw a major jump in player activity after adding the legendary Muay Thai master Sagat and new swimsuit skins.
Last week’s update brought back the classic villain, sparking excitement among long-time fans. However, Sagat wasn’t the only highlight. The first wave of Outfit 4 swimsuit skins—featuring Cammy, Chun-Li, Manon, Luke, Kimberly, Jamie, and A.K.I.—quickly caught the community’s attention. Consequently, players have been showing off summer-themed looks and sharing fan content online.

Unlike previous updates that focused on recolors or avatar cosmetics, these new outfits refresh the main roster’s style. Moreover, the rest of the cast’s swimsuits will arrive in future updates. Even so, this first batch has already made a splash in the community.
Player Count Nearly Doubles
According to SteamDB, the game’s concurrent player count peaked at 50,975 on August 4 UTC. This figure nearly doubled the usual 25,000–30,000 average. As expected, Street Fighter 6 often sees spikes during new updates, but this is one of the biggest outside major DLC fighter drops.

For comparison, Akuma still holds the record with 70,202 concurrent players. Meanwhile, crossover newcomers Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard reached 63,218 and 54,280 respectively. Street Fighter 6 is available now on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4/ PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
