Gamers and theme park fans have a new reason to look forward to a trip to Sentosa. Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has unveiled the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP), a long term redevelopment of the island that will unfold over the next two decades, and tucked inside the announcement is confirmation that the immersive Super Nintendo World is coming to Universal Studios Singapore.
The plan was revealed at the opening of the “Your Island. Reimagined.” exhibition at VivoCity, where SDC shared the vision for Greater Sentosa, which combines Sentosa with the nearby 120 hectare island of Brani. The overall goal is to expand the island’s attractions, hotels and experiences while keeping its natural charm intact. SDC expects the completed plan to draw twice as many visitors as the island currently sees.

For gamers specifically, the headline addition is Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Singapore, which SDC listed among the new experiences guests can look forward to at Resorts World Sentosa. It is mentioned alongside another major addition, the Waterfront Lifestyle Development, which is scheduled for completion in 2030. No opening date or further details for Super Nintendo World were shared in the announcement.

Beyond the gaming attraction, the wider Greater Sentosa plan includes new landmarks such as the Imbiah Canopy, a lookout point on Mount Imbiah with food, retail and event spaces, along with a tree top skywalk and the Imbiah Lookout Walk, a sheltered forest canopy path connecting to existing trails. The plan also covers rejuvenated beaches at Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong, an islet hopping experience, and improved transport through a new Island Heart Transport Hub and a People Mover System that will replace the current Sentosa Express.
