CD Projekt Red has released a new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the upcoming anime made in collaboration with Japanese studio TRIGGER. The series will arrive exclusively on Netflix this fall, giving fans a clearer picture of when they can expect the follow up to the original Edgerunners.
The new anime is set in Night City, the same dystopian setting used in the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Rather than continuing the story of the first series, Edgerunners 2 introduces a brand new cast of characters and tells a standalone story centered on what it means to be an edgerunner in the city’s harsher corners.
New crew. New story. Same Night City.

The project is directed by Kai Ikarashi, with character designs handled by Ichigo Kanno. The story comes from CD Projekt Red’s Bartosz Sztybor alongside Masahiko Otsuka. Alongside the trailer, the studio also revealed the main promotional artwork for the series, with the original illustration by Ichigo Kanno, ink and color supervision by Yukiko Kakita, and composition by Yuichiroh Tozawa. Viewers interested in learning more about the new characters can find details on the show’s official website, which already features character profiles.
The trailer also introduces the series’ featured song, “You Can’t Run From Me” by Rico Nasty. The track was written specifically for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 and is now available to stream on major music platforms.
