PRAGMATA director Yonghee Cho has said he personally wants to see a sequel to the newly released sci-fi shooter, but made it clear that the decision is not his alone to make. When asked by GamesRadar whether he’d like to work on a follow-up, Cho was straightforward about it: “Of course I’d love to see a sequel. But I’m not the only one who decides, so unfortunately I can’t really comment beyond that.” He was also careful to point out that this was his “own personal opinion on the matter.”

Producer Naoto Oyama gave a more cautious answer, saying the team is still focused on the game that just came out. “I honestly don’t know what the future holds. Like you said, it’s only been a month since PRAGMATA went on sale, so honestly, what I’m focused on is just trying to get as many people to experience PRAGMATA as I can. I’m focused on Pragmata itself.”
The comments come after a strong opening for the game. PRAGMATA sold a million copies in its first weekend and hit two million within its first 16 days on sale. Capcom USA’s COO Rob Dyer had already pointed to that success in April, saying during a public panel that the company now has “got another IP.”

Capcom has noted that launching a brand new IP comes with extra challenges. To build early interest, the team released a demo well ahead of launch and brought the game to Nintendo Switch 2 on day one. The publisher described PRAGMATA as being developed primarily by a younger team of Capcom developers, combining action gameplay with puzzle elements inside a world driven by artificial intelligence.
