McDonald’s has partnered with The Pokemon Company to launch a new Pokemon-themed Happy Meal promotion featuring Trading Card Game (TCG) cards across the United States, starting January 21, 2025. The promotion brings exclusive Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) content to fans, both physically and digitally.

Each Pokemon Happy Meal includes a four-card TCG booster pack featuring cards from a special set of 15 collectible cards, with a focus on Dragon-type Pokemon. The meals also come with a Pokemon poster and sticker sheet for customization. McDonald’s has created four unique Happy Meal box designs showcasing popular Pokemon including Charizard, Pikachu with Dragonite, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza.

Guillaume Huin, Senior Marketing Director at McDonald’s, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting the deep nostalgia both brands share with their fans. “We’re thrilled to build on those great memories and create a new moment of fun and happiness with the new Pokemon Happy Meal,” said Huin.
The promotion includes a digital component for mobile users. Customers who purchase their Happy Meal through the McDonald’s app will receive a one-time code redeemable in the Pokemon TCG Pocket app. This code unlocks 24 pack hourglasses and 12 wonder hourglasses, allowing players to open two digital booster packs and select a randomized digital card using the Wonder Pick feature.
