Nintendo has announced that it will be rebranding its official online storefront, with the current My Nintendo Store set to be renamed the Nintendo Store later this month.
The change will take effect on May 27, 2026, and is expected to roll out across all regions where the store is currently available under the My Nintendo Store branding, including Japan, North America, and the United Kingdom.
My Nintendo Store Rebrands as Nintendo Store

Originally relaunched in February 2022, the store serves as Nintendo’s official digital storefront for games, hardware, accessories, and merchandise. Following the upcoming update, the platform will simply be known as the Nintendo Store.
Despite the name change, Nintendo has confirmed that the service itself will remain unchanged. This includes all existing features, product availability, and purchasing systems.
The company has stated that there will be no changes to how the store operates, and users will continue to access the same digital storefront experience following the rebrand.
Connection to My Nintendo Loyalty Program

The store was originally designed to integrate closely with Nintendo’s My Nintendo loyalty program, which launched in March 2016 alongside mobile titles such as Miitomo.
Through the My Nintendo program, users can earn Platinum Points by completing various activities across Nintendo platforms, including mobile games and Nintendo Switch Online services. These points can then be redeemed for digital rewards such as wallpapers, in-game items, and selected merchandise through the online store.
While the storefront name is changing to Nintendo Store, Nintendo has not announced any changes to the My Nintendo loyalty program itself. At this time, the rewards system and point-based structure are expected to continue operating as normal.
No Impact on Store Services or Products

Nintendo has emphasized that the rebranding is strictly a naming update and will not affect the functionality of the store. All current services, including game purchases, hardware sales, and official merchandise distribution, will remain in place.
The update has been confirmed through Nintendo’s official regional social media accounts, including Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, with a broader global rollout expected to follow.
Further details regarding the transition have not been provided, but the change appears to be part of a broader effort to streamline Nintendo’s branding across its digital services.
At the time of writing, no additional changes have been announced for the Nintendo Switch ecosystem or related online services beyond the storefront rebranding.
