Netflix Malaysia has unveiled Meet the Adams, a new short film inspired by the hit series Wednesday. This Malaysian reimagining stars the queen of local horror, Maya Karin, as the spookily elegant matriarch Mak Tisha. With her signature taste for eau de parfum Rafflesia, Mak Tisha embodies an air of gothic glamour.

She is perfectly — if imperfectly — matched by her utterly devoted, keris-wielding husband Tok Gomeh, portrayed by Adi Afendi, making them the very definition of #relationshipgoals.

Family Antics with a Bang

Outside, chaos brews as Ali and his mischievous partner-in-crime Grandmama — played by internet personality Bento and his real-life grandmother Hasnah binti Amat, a.k.a. Kek Da-B — work together on a dangerously elaborate and completely explosive fireworks display. Their schemes promise both laughs and a little mayhem, perfectly fitting the Adams’ family spirit.

A Goth Girl with a Morbid Collection

Completing the family portrait is Rabu, played by Puteri Balqis, the local answer to the goth girl next door. While “Normies” might keep cute Labubus, Rabu prefers her own macabre collection of Rabubus, each with its own unsettling charm.

Join the Adams in Real Life

Fans who want to step into the Adams’ world can visit Nevermore Academy: Malaysia Campus at Sunway Pyramid, open now until 17 August. Visitors can explore four interactive zones inspired by Wednesday, including clue hunting, alchemy, skeleton-themed floral design, and a recreated dorm room, earning stamps for completing activities.

The pop-up offers hands-on challenges, photo opportunities, and a fun taste of Nevermore Academy for fans and casual visitors alike. As part of the festivities, the Biggest Moving Thing had also roamed around Klang Valley until 10 August, adding to the event’s quirky charm.
