NetEase Games has officially revealed the next chapter of Marvel Rivals with Season 4: The Heart of the Dragon, arriving on September 12, 2025. Alongside this major update, the free-to-play third-person shooter will also launch for PlayStation 4, therefore reaching an even broader audience.

Daredevil and Angela Join the Roster

The new cinematic trailer not only confirmed the PS4 release but also introduced two fresh heroes: Daredevil and Angela. Matt Murdock makes his debut in the game, clashing with the winged Asgardian in the teaser video. However, NetEase has yet to detail their specific abilities.

Even so, speculation suggests Angela may fit into the Vanguard role while Daredevil could be a Duelist. Moreover, their official gameplay will be revealed closer to launch, keeping anticipation high.

The Heart of Heaven in Crisis

Season 4’s story continues in the aftermath of Knull’s fall. The Timestream Entanglement merges the Seven Capitals into the Heart of Heaven, where Hela is imprisoned within the An’Hay-Zhidi. As a result, her betrayal brings Angela to confront her, demanding justice. Nevertheless, Dizang—the Devil of the Eighth City—refuses to hand her over, setting up a heated conflict that pushes the narrative forward.

Doctor Doom Targets Shou-Lao

Amid this turmoil, Doctor Doom emerges with his most dangerous plan yet. He seeks to steal the Chronal Chi of the sleeping dragon Shou-Lao, and this act could unravel the fate of the Heavens themselves.

Consequently, the storyline places Iron Fist in the spotlight as he must defend the Immortal Dragon from Doom’s ambitions. Therefore, players can expect high-stakes battles that tie directly into the new season’s lore.

From Season 3 to Season 4

Season 3 previously introduced Blade and Jean Grey/Phoenix, along with a collection of Symbiote-themed skins that expanded customization options. In addition, NetEase used Season 3.5 to address toxic community behavior, ensuring a steadier foundation for future updates. Thus, Season 4 builds directly on this momentum, adding new heroes, storylines, and a PS4 release to broaden the game’s impact.
