Dragami Games has officially announced that a brand-new Lollipop Chainsaw game and anime adaptation are currently in development, bringing the cult-classic zombie slayer back in full swing.
The announcement was made in collaboration with Nada Holdings, who are partnering closely with Dragami Games to preserve and expand upon the original game’s unique identity—namely its over-the-top zombie action and dark humor. According to the developers, several key staff members from the original team are also returning for the new project.

“Under the strong partnership between Nada Holdings and Dragami Games, development is already underway on a brand-new Lollipop Chainsaw title that both preserves and builds upon the appeal of the original,” reads the official statement.
The new game will remain faithful to the tone and world of the 2012 original while implementing fan-requested improvements. The press release emphasizes that the project will not be limited by “excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion),” sparking both interest and conversation among longtime fans.
Return of a Cult Favorite

Originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, Lollipop Chainsaw debuted in 2012 and was a collaboration between game designer Suda51 (No More Heroes) and film director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy). A remastered version titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP launched in 2024, selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide.
As of now, no release window, platform details, or anime production staff have been revealed, but new official X (formerly Twitter) accounts have launched in English and Japanese to share development updates.
