Nintendo has officially announced that Kirby’s Air Rider will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025. Fans can already pre-order the game through the My Nintendo Store, while special soundtrack tracks are available now on Nintendo Music.

The announcement was revealed during the Kirby’s Air Rider Direct 2025.8.19, where director Masahiro Sakurai demonstrated gameplay and shared new details.

Simple Yet Exciting Controls

Kirby’s Air Rider is designed for players of all ages, with controls limited to just two buttons and a stick. Despite the simplicity, the game still delivers fast-paced and accessible action. Therefore, even young children can easily enjoy racing while seasoned players master advanced strategies.

Unique Riders

Players can choose from Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and many more. Each rider comes with their own abilities and special moves. As a result, experimenting with different characters adds depth and variety, ensuring that every race feels fresh.

Air Ride Machines

The game also features a wide range of Air Ride machines, each with its own performance and style. Some hover above the ground, while others resemble motorcycles. Moreover, since performance changes depending on which rider pilots them, discovering the best combinations creates new strategies and playstyles.

Action Races

The core mode, Air Ride, pits up to six riders against each other on vibrant courses. Players can attack rivals and enemies to build speed and race for first place. Consequently, every match feels dynamic and unpredictable, keeping the adrenaline high until the finish line.

City Trial

In City Trial, up to 16 players freely explore a large map within a time limit, upgrading and customizing their machines. Afterward, competitors bring their builds into the Stadium, where the final battle unfolds.

During this mode, unexpected events like boss battles, random races, and challenges appear. Therefore, no two matches are ever the same. In addition, multiple win conditions—such as distance, speed, and combat—make the gameplay highly replayable.

Special Music on Nintendo Music

Ahead of release, Nintendo has also made seven tracks from the game available on the Nintendo Music smartphone app for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The lineup includes the main theme “Meteor Road” and background music from select courses. Furthermore, fans can enjoy the soundtrack now and imagine the racing action before launch.
