Game creator Kazutaka Kodaka has announced an upcoming reveal set for February 22, 2026. The announcement came through a social media post written in Japanese, which translates to: “Is February 22 open? There will be an announcement around 12 PM tomorrow.”

The February 22 date immediately sparked speculation among fans about a possible Danganronpa announcement. The series, which Kodaka created, has longstanding connections to the number 22 among its fanbase. However, Kodaka quickly addressed these expectations in a follow-up post, stating: “This has nothing to do with Danganronpa. The numbers just happened to overlap.”

With Danganronpa off the table, focus has shifted to Kodaka’s current work through Too Kyo Games. The studio recently released The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, a tactics RPG available on PC and Nintendo Switch. The game has performed well since its launch and has been recognized as one of 2025’s unexpected successes.
