2B is the protagonist from the world of NieR: Automata, an all-purpose battle android deployed by the automated YoRHa infantry, an elite military force designed to combat invading aliens and machine lifeforms on Earth.
2B is a Fire Code, Burst III, SSR Defender class character who wields the Virtuous Rifle AR. Like all collab characters, she will be part of the Abnormal line.
Note that this guide will be an early first impression of the newly released character, and her overall performances and usability may differ over time.
Skill Kit (values based on Skill Level 10)
Her Skill 1, Survival, activates whenever she uses her Burst Skill and grants her increased Max HP depending on the number of activation time(s).
- Activate once, increases 2B’s Max HP by 10.03% continuously.
- Activate twice, increases 2B’s Max HP by 20.06% continuously.
- Activate thrice, increases 2B’s Max HP by 57.76% continuously.
Her second skill, Cluster Bomb, is a passive effect that has 2 components, which are as follows:
- Once entering battle, immediately increases 2B’s ATK by 6.16% of her final Max HP continuously.
- Whenever 2B fires her rifle 300 times, deals 167.45% of final ATK as damage to all enemies.
Lastly, her Burst Skill, Series of Attacks, is an active ability with a cooldown duration of 40 seconds and has the following effects:
- When activated, deals 2439.36% of final ATK as distributed among all enemies.
- Additionally, deals 792% of final ATK as additional damage to the enemy with the highest Max HP.
At a glance, 2B is without a doubt going to be a top-tier DPS and it is fair to even call her an Attacker disguised as a Defender.
To explain my stance, we look at her Skill 2, Cluster Bomb, which has the passive effect of increasing her ATK based on her Max HP once entering battle, essentially a permanent buff to herself. For the uninitiated, Defender Nikke(s) has the highest Max HP among all characters, able to hit around 6.5 million health.
As you can imagine, an everlasting effect that increases ATK based on a percentage of such a high value would essentially align 2B’s damage output with some of the top Attacker units, even surpassing them.
That is just the icing on the cake because her Skill 1, Survival, synergizes with Cluster Bomb wonderfully by regularly boosting up her Max HP to close to double her original health pool on the third activation of Burst Skill.
If we take her other abilities into consideration, which are her Skill 2 and Burst Skill, both able to deal amazing damage against all enemies. 2B is looking to be one of the strongest damage dealers in Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
Without exaggeration, 2B’s overall skill kit and stat easily put her at the top of the tier list, likely even surpassing some of the previous fan-favorite DPS units. The assumption is made largely due to her insane multiplier of Skill 2, Cluster Bomb, having such a high number value to enhance her overall ATK.
2B is designed like an Attacker who takes advantage and scales off of a Defender’s high Max HP for extremely high ATK to rival other DPS. Since her Skill 2’s effect also adapts to any health value changes, allies who can increase Max HP such as Mary: Bay Goddess, Mast, Noise, and Frima will be amazing supports for 2B.
Her Burst Skill, Series of Attacks, also made her an amazing character for Raids and Interceptions, since bosses will take full uncapped damage from the ability as there are no other enemies to take the Distributed Damage away from them. Even against crowds of enemies, the value of the Distributed Damage is high enough to wipe out a good amount of them, especially in combination with her Skill 2 effect that triggers after 300 shots.
Considering that 2B is a truly limited unit due to her nature as a collab character, while also possessing such a powerful ability kit and stat numbers, she is a must-pull in my opinion.
