Yoann Gueritot, the director behind the Fuga: Melodies of Steel RPG series, has announced that he’s joining Sega. Gueritot left CyberConnect2 in 2023 after working on the first two Fuga games. In his announcement on X (formerly Twitter), he shared his excitement about the new role, explaining that classic Sega franchises played a big part in his life growing up.
“I’m joining Sega starting today! Super excited — Shenmue and Jet Set Radio sparked my passion for Japan when I was a kid and ultimately shaped my path, so it really feels like things have come full circle. Alright, time to get to work!” Gueritot wrote.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel follows a group of children who board a giant tank called the Taranis after their peaceful village is attacked. Determined to save their families, the children begin a dangerous journey filled with difficult choices. Throughout the game, players face tough decisions that can change the direction of their adventure.
The game is an RPG where players position children at different gun turrets on the tank, with each child bringing their own unique skills and characteristics to battle. As the children live together inside the tank, they develop relationships and show different emotions that can affect the story’s outcome.

The Fuga: Melodies of Steel series was developed by CyberConnect2. The trilogy is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.
