Type-Moon Studio BB has officially announced that Fate/Extra Record, the remake of the turn-based RPG Fate/Extra, has been delayed from its previously planned 2025 release window to Spring 2026.
The developers shared that while they had aimed for a 2025 launch, the additional time will be used to ensure higher quality and polish for the game.

Alongside the delayed release of the game, the studio also revealed that Japanese special edition pre-orders for the game are now live for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, which can be viewed via the game’s official website.
Fate/Extra Record is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game reimagines the original Fate/Extra, which was first released on the PSP, following a customizable protagonist, known as Hakuno Kishinami, as they participate in a mysterious Grail War inside a virtual world.

The original game featured a choice of three Servants: Nero (Saber), Tamamo (Caster), and Emiya (Archer). Its sequel, Fate/Extra CCC, was released exclusively in Japan in 2013 and was never officially localized but gained attention recently due to a full English fan translation.
Fate/Extra Record will now launch in Spring 2026. More updates are expected in the coming months.
