Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed to 2026

Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware have delayed Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game was originally planned for 2025 but will now launch in 2026.

FromSoftware said it needs more time to improve the game’s performance. The studio explained that optimizing Elden Ring for the Nintendo Switch 2’s hardware requires additional development and testing. The team aims to deliver a version that runs smoothly while maintaining the game’s scale and visual quality.

Adapting a Masterpiece for New Hardware

First released in 2022, Elden Ring became one of the most acclaimed action RPGs of all time. Its massive open world, rich lore, and intense combat earned praise from both fans and critics. Bringing such a large-scale experience to the Nintendo Switch 2, a hybrid console, poses unique challenges.
