Apart from the usual Angry Birds and Worms 3D, comes a seemingly cutesy aim-and-shoot game, Bowmasters by Playgendary. Don’t let the colorful and fun style fool you, this game can turn into a Mortal Kombat-styled bloodfest in a swift second.
Bowmasters released on 15th August on the iOS, and it’s a single player game where you have to battle against AI opponents, throwing around various projectiles at each other until one of you dies.
Here’s the trailer:
The trailer doesn’t truly reflect the nature of the game, it really isn’t so kid-friendly but filled with blood and gore when the characters get hit. It even has the classic Mortal Kombat “Finish Him!” announcer and darkened screen when one of the character’s life bar is exhausted. You’ll have one final shot to hit your opponent, and if it does, your eyes will be feasting on a variety of gory fatalities.
There are 30 characters in the games, many being parodies of famous characters like Deadpool and even Skrillex. There are a few different modes that can be unlocked as you progress in the game. Other than single matches against AI opponents, there are two mini games as well. One is Apple mode, where you have to try to shoot fruit off someone’s head without accidentally killing them, and the Duck Hunt mode is to shoot as many birds as you can out of the sky within a certain time limit. There’s also a Tournament mode and a local multiplayer mode, but nope, no online multiplayer.
It really is a fun game, so download it and try it out!
