Apple TV has released a new teaser for the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, its globally successful Monsterverse series. The announcement confirms that the 10-episode season will premiere worldwide on Friday, February 27, 2026. The first episode will launch on that date, with new episodes arriving weekly every Friday until May 1, 2026.
The series once again brings together a strong ensemble cast, including Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm. Season two will also feature several new guest stars, expanding the scope and scale of the story as the Monsterverse continues to grow on the small screen.
Godzilla Returns as a New Titan Emerges

Season two raises the stakes by bringing Godzilla into the spotlight alongside Kong, while also introducing a brand-new threat: Titan X. Described as a living cataclysm, Titan X is far more than another giant monster. When its massive, bioluminescent form rises from the ocean, the impact is both physical and psychological, signaling danger on a global scale.
Titan X sits at the heart of the season’s central mystery. As an ancient force emerging from the depths, its intentions remain unclear, but its power is unmatched. The series aims to balance awe and terror as this new Titan reshapes the fragile balance between humanity and the monsters it fears.
Picking Up After Season One’s Revelations

The first season followed two siblings as they uncovered their family’s connection to Monarch, the secretive organization monitoring the world’s Titans. Their search led them through multiple timelines, from the 1950s to the present day, and to Army officer Lee Shaw, portrayed by both Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell. The story gradually revealed secrets that threatened Monarch’s very existence.
Season two continues directly from those events, with Monarch’s fate, and the world’s, hanging in the balance. The narrative reunites allies and adversaries on Kong’s Skull Island, introduces a mysterious new village, and explores how unresolved truths from the past ripple into the present. As tensions rise, the threat of a catastrophic titan event looms closer than ever.
Expanding the Monsterverse on Apple TV

Produced by Legendary Television, the series is executive produced by Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, alongside Chris Black, Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville, and Lawrence Trilling. Black serves as showrunner for season two, while Toho Co., Ltd. continues its involvement as executive producer, licensing the Godzilla character as part of its long-standing partnership with Legendary.
Apple TV and Legendary have also confirmed plans to further expand the Monsterverse through multiple spin-off series. The first is an untitled Young Lee Shaw prequel, with Wyatt Russell reprising his role and Joby Harold overseeing the broader franchise expansion.
With the Monsterverse surpassing $2.5 billion at the global box office and continuing to grow across film, television, games, and other media, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters remains a key pillar in bringing this interconnected universe to streaming audiences. Season one is currently available to stream worldwide on Apple TV.
