Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company have confirmed that a sequel to the 2021 co-op shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite is in development. Titled Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the game is set for release this summer on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The original game let up to three players team up in a third-person, player-versus-environment (PvE) experience, and the sequel is expanding on that. One of the first things fans will notice from the trailer is that squad size is getting a bump, with four-player co-op now supported instead of three. Cross-play is fully supported across all platforms, so players on different systems can team up without any issues.

On top of the larger squad size, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is bringing new Xenomorph types to the fight alongside improved player classes. A highlight among those is the Specialist, a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match abilities from any other class in the game. At launch, the game will also include a Horde mode complete with its own dedicated maps. The mode throws increasingly large and difficult enemy waves at players, with better rewards as the challenge ramps up.
More details are on the way meaning gameplay footage, information on classes and enemies, and more will be rolling out over soon.
