The official Twitter and website for the Wave!! project has been launched! The multi-media project’s game, full name Wave!! ~Wave Riding Boys~ will be launching early 2021. You can check out the website here, while the official Twitter is here.

They’ve still yet to actually reveal what the game will entail, but we should be able to reasonably assume a level of simulation / raising of characters with the typical gacha elements. The project is being developed with the supervision of the Nippon Surfing Association, the supervision cooperation of Surf Magazine, and the cooperation of Murasaki Sports.

Three anime movies have been aired past October ahead of the game, as part of the Wave!! multi-media franchise. There will also be a radio show, as well as a 4-panel (4-koma) manga to be released in both English and Japanese.

Pre-registrations for the game will be coming at some point in the future, surely with their associated milestone rewards. Considering the involvement of the surfing association, it sounds like something meant to draw in more people into the sport, or at least give more exposure to it. If you wanted to get people into surfing, you could do worse than revolve an entire project around it, so we’ll see how popular this can get.
