As more devices move to USB-C exclusivity, storage solutions will have to adapt to suit them. Kingston today launched the Data Traveler 80 and Data Traveler 70, two USB-C thumbdrives.
The Data Traveler 80 is a heavy-duty thumbdrive, featuring high write speeds. It features a 200MB/s read speed, as well as a 60Mb/s write speed. According to Kingston, this thumbdrive is built for professional use, due to its high speeds. It also comes in storage sizes of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. It also comes with a built-in loop so you can attach it to your keychain.
Those interested in more casual use can look into the Data Traveler 70. It uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 technology, giving it speeds up to 10 times faster than the USB 2.0. It sports a lighter, more compact design, and comes with storage of up to 128GB.
The Data Traveler 70 in particular is aimed at those mobile devices that exclusively use USB-C, such as certain models of Android Phone.
