The previously reported Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent now has a release date, via a new tweet. The mobile game will release October 28th for Android and iOS.
The release date was announced via their official twitter account.
The tweet reads:
The official service of “Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent” will launch on [October 28, 2020 (Wednesday)]! We have also released the latest trailer, so I hope you will inflate your thoughts on the journey that is about to begin
The trailer shows off more of the game, which bears a striking resemblance to the original Octopath Traveler. The 2D pixel art against a 3D background is really striking, especially with the lighting effects.
The game gives us a closer look at its 3 main villains, along with their voice lines. These characters are:
- Helminia, the Witch of Greed and Conqueror of Wealth
- Titus The Hero and Conqueror of Power
- Argust the Playwright and Conqueror of Glory
We also got a quick glimpse of some of the characters you’ll be able to recruit in the game, and how any of them can be put at the head of the party for cutscenes.
We’re also treated to some of the fights in the game, which still look straight out of Octopath Traveler. It’s got that tasty classic JRPG flare to it.
The game will be available for iOS and Android.
