The inaugural season of the League of Legends Pacific Championship Series (PCS) will be starting this weekend on 29 February! Featuring 10 teams across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, this will herald a new era of competitive League of Legends in the region. You can catch the PCS livestreams kicking off at 5PM GMT + 8 on Saturday in English, Mandarin and Thai languages. Matches will run every Saturday and Sunday until 4 April.

Catch the live broadcast of matches of the PCS streams through Twitch or Youtube. Already, the competition starts out burning hot with a clash of giants between J-Team and ahq Esports Club! The league season format will follow a double round-robin Best-of-Ones, with each team facing one another twice during the Regular Season.

The PCS is co-organized by Riot Games and FunPlus Esports, while Garena publishes League of Legends in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

ahq Esports Club

Established in 2012 and led by team captain Ziv, ahq is a team of lively, passionate players who call Taipei home. Having represented the LMS region at multiple World Championships, ahq’s sense of unity, discipline and a “never say never” attitude have seen them grow from a young and scrappy team to one of the most celebrated esports organizations in the region. With an unconventional and unscripted playstyle, ahq excels in breaking deadlocks and getting out of the stickiest of situations. The team believes that skills speak louder than words, and are determined to write a new page in history this year with the PCS.

Alpha Esports

Alpha Esports, a Taipei team established in 2017, is entering the PCS with a brand new roster. Having made their debut at Season 9 of the LMS, the team has grown in strength and has held firmly to their philosophy of rising together. Alpha’s top laner, Rock, will be one to watch as the team’s shotcaller. Alpha has surprises in store for the PCS audience, and are confident that their assertive playstyle and unwavering team communication will have them playing at their very best.

Berjaya Dragons

One of the youngest teams in the region and in the league, Berjaya Dragons is not to be underestimated. The team makes its professional esports debut at the PCS this year, representing their home city of Kuala Lumpur and waving their flag as the “Pride of Malaysia”. Backed by Malaysian conglomerate, Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Berjaya Dragons is set to ignite and leave its indelible mark on the region’s LoL esports scene.

Machi Esports

Established in 2014 by music and entertainment maven Jeffrey Huang, Machi Esports has long aspired to represent Taipei in the international esports scene. As one of the very first League of Legends esports teams in the region, Machi Esports has enjoyed much international success. After a subsequent rebrand to M17, followed by a break in 2018, the team is returning once more as Machi Esports and resuming their League of Legends journey at the PCS.

Hong Kong Attitude

Established in 2013, Hong Kong Attitude is considered amongst the top esports organizations in the region. With an experimental playstyle that pits team members against new strategies and tactics, Hong Kong Attitude is always looking to change up their game. The team is determined to groom the best possible team to glorify the region, and aims to push the esports envelope at PCS this year.

J-Team

J Team is the evolution of S2 World Champions Taipei Assassins. J Team first debuted during the 2016 LMS Summer Split, and after years of consistently strong performance, won the 2019 LMS Summer Split and clinched a spot in the World Championship Top 16. Owned by acclaimed musician Jay Chou, J Team is ranked as one of the region’s top teams today and believes that anyone has the potential to be a star. This year in the PCS, they are determined to nurture top-level players – giving them a chance to shine, and at the same time creating a truly exciting experience for their fans.

Liyab Esports

In just a short span of time, Liyab has become synonymous with Filipino esports. Fans may be familiar with their aggressively punishing playstyle and top talent like DoeDoii – whom many tout as the best jungler in the Philippines. Despite having undergone several changes recently (including a change from their former name of Mineski), Liyab has kept their Filipino heart and spirit intact, valuing mentality and attitude above raw skills, and keeping their eye on the prize.

Nova Esports

Having conquered several mobile game championships since its inception in 2016, Nova Esports now represents Bangkok in the PCS and is committed to bringing their championship DNA to the league. The team believes in nurturing and mentoring young players into the next generation of esports stars. With their tenacity, robust management support and undeterring will to win, Nova Esports is set to show us just how #NOVASTRONG they really are.

Resurgence

Established in 2017, Resurgence is the largest esports organisation in Singapore. Inspired by the phoenix that graces their team logo, Resurgence is passionate about creating positive impact in their community, and steering the growth of esports in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Known for their highly methodical and objective-driven playstyle, Resurgence’s core values lie in discipline, accountability, and open communication. Key players to watch include Raven, whose strong reputation ranks him amongst the most talented players in the country. With the goal of empowering and building sustainable careers for aspiring esports players, Resurgence aims to take esports in the region to the next level.

Talon

Much like their namesake, Talon is a sharp and hungry team from Hong Kong that makes its debut in the PCS this year. Though new to League of Legends esports, Talon is no stranger to the scene, having won championships for many competitive games. With electrifying players such as Hanabi, River and Kaiwing, Talon focuses on teamwork and synergy, and will be calling for one and all to #BLEEDCRIMSON as they seek to dominate the PCS in 2020.
