A new mobile tactical RPG Dragon Quest Tact has been announced by Square Enix. As the name goes, it’s a new Dragon Quest game, for iOS and Android devices. It will be a free-to-play title with in-app purchases. It is estimated for release in 2020 in Japan.

Command and battle familiar monsters from the Dragon Quest series. The battle map is made of squares which will be occupied by 3D monsters. The turn-based combat from the mainline games will have elements taken from them to be in the mobile game.

Gematsu also lists the main staff as follows:

It’s not the series’ first foray into mobile games, having things like Dragon Quest Walk, Dragon Quest of the Stars (whose worldwide release is approaching) to start.
