Phil Spencer previews Project xCloud with Razer Kishi

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, shared an enticing glimpse into the Razer Kishi alongside Project xCloud. Just have a look at his Tweet below:

The Razer Kishi was previewed at CES 2020, dubbed the “universal mobile gaming controller” capable of supporting low latency gameplay for both Android and iOS devices. This accessory is projected to be available early 2020, featuring clickable analog controls and thumbsticks with universal fit.

Project xCloud, meanwhile, allows players to stream Xbox games from the cloud. Presently in a preview stage and only for Android devices, people can try to register for the testing stage for this “future in gaming”. You will require:

• A compatible mobile device: Android version 6.0 or greater, Bluetooth version 4.0+
• Compatible Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth
• 5GHz Wi-Fi or mobile data connection 10Mbps down
• Xbox Game Streaming App (Preview)

The website warns that the process can take a few months for approval, so it’s not likely the average person would be trying out Project xCloud anytime soon.

What do you think about mobile cloud gaming? It would certainly be exciting to have traditionally bulky consoles have their games be mobile, which one could argue is the biggest appeal of the Nintendo Switch with its deluge of ports.
