With the announcement of so many games being pushed from Riot Games, we have our hands busy with all the materials from the event. But forget about that and let’s talk about the upcoming card game from Riot Games in 2020, Legends of Runeterra!

Legends of RuneTerra is a game where the factions within the lore separate into regions. Each region has their own featured champion, and different playstyles. Not only that, you can also combine the forces of different regions to conquer your opponent. You as a player need to come up with a strategy and destroy the opponent’s Nexus.
Each turn, players need to place a card into the battlefield. Every card will need a different amount of mana to summon or use. During the turn you summon your card, you can’t attack with it. This allows your opponent to come up with a strategy or a countermeasure if it goes out of hand. Like a lot of card games, when you are making an action for your cards, there is a response phase for your opponent to use the right cards to counter you.
All the cards have their respective statistics as such,
- Mana Cost
- Attack/Defend/HP
Champion Cards will need more mana to summon and when they kill an enemy 2 or 3 times, the champion card will evolve and become more powerful. The visuals of the card will also change as well!
As for the pacing of the game, comparing to other games like Hearthstone, it is much faster and maybe more tactical. In other words, there are a lot of comeback chances!
