[TGS 2019] Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris Gameplay Details and what we know about the game!

Tokyo Games Show is a blast this year. A lot of great games coming the the event this year. Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is one of them! We are the few of the lucky ones to managed get our hands on the game!

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will be a single player RPG game that is based on the latest TV series anime Sword Art Online: Alicization arc which was aired on 2018. This game contains the first half of Alicization arc of Sword Art Online. The other second half will be aired in the anime on October called Sword Art Online War of the Underworld.

The game will have its own original story that takes place from the last episode of the anime that derived into two story branches. Sword Art Online: Alicization both anime and game will take a different path from that last episodes. The game will be featuring an original story called Lycoris.

You might have known that Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will have a new character Medina coming into the game. Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will introduce 4 more characters into the game. You will get to meet Ronye, Selka, Tiese and Cardinal. All of them are Kirito’s classmates in the academy.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will have also have a new environment in the game! Glacis Fields is placed within the forest inside the mountain. There will be ruins scattered around inside Glacis Fields waiting to be dscouvered by you! It is not open world map but this map is huge. The map will have 3 levels so if you drop down from a high place, consider yourself splattered.

In this game, you cant partner up to 4 characters. You can switch in between the characters during the game. You can give commands to your fellow team members and perform awesome combos with them.  Any character that you can be partnered up with is a playable character. There are so many characters in this game so who knows which character will be in your party?

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris has a strong RPG nature in the game. You can pause the game to heal yourself and give orders to your fellow party team members. However, the game will be much cooler and awesome if you are good at the game and don’t need to pause. The game will be seen flowing naturally without any interruption.

Not to worry for the newcomers of the Sword Art Online, even you can play this game without watching all the anime at all ! Since the game will have an original story derived from the last episode of the anime, a totally new world was built from scratch in this game to even human relationships as well. This story features Kirito, the main protagonist of the game, jumps into the unknown world that is filled with chaos. It is up to Kirito help to bring order to the chaotic world.

One of the biggest feature of the game is the AI running inside the game. The AI will track and memories you behavior inside the game. The AI will learn your movements and will adapt a new behavior based on your own movements forcing you to have a new strategy to tackle it! This game feature is kinda similar to the Final Fantasy 12 where there is this feature called Gambit that you can set up your own Gambit.

In case if you want to know what those Lycoris from Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris means, in the TV series anime Sword Art Online: Alicization arc uses flowers as a motive in the anime. As you can see in the anime, Eugo uses a sword called Blue Rose sword meanwhile Alice uses Fragrant Olive sword. The company chooses Lycoris because in Japan, the flower Lycoris is called Higanbana. This flower has meaning which portrays sadness and the fragility. Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will have a sadness and fragility in nature. Therefore, that is the reason it is named Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris.

The release date for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris has not been announced yet. The game will be available in Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
