You may have know have the Predator for having an iconic franchise to the pop culture fandom. For having several movies to even have another franchise crossing over and create two movies of it. Well this iconic character is now coming to PS4. Prepare to get hunted. We are a few lucky people to be able to get our hands-on for the game at the Tokyo Games Show.

As you known, Predator Hunting Grounds is a symmetrical co-op multiplayer where you get to play THE Predator himself or you play as one of the four in the Fire Team that has been assigned to a mission in the Predator’s hunting ground. The Fire Team will have a first person view meanwhile the Predator will have a third person view.

For the Fire Team, you will be given a mission that you want to get through. Right before you hop into the map, you can pick your infiltration location together with your teammates. You will need to coordinate with your teammates by staying close to each other to reach the objective but not too close! You will looked like an easy meal for the Predator but if you stray away from your team, you are a dead man.

Being in the Fire Team, you can focus on hunting down the Predator which will end the game or survive long enough till you complete objectives and you will be able to go into the chopper just like in the movie. So far, the guns available in the demo is pretty fun except for the sniper rifle since you can’t one shot the Predator.

For the Fire Team there is various mud spots to mask yourself from the Predator’s infrared vision for a brief of time. There is another game feature called spotting where you can call out the Predator’s whereabouts to your teammates. If one of the Fire Team ended up died, their other teammates can revive their fallen brothers in the reinforcement point.

Now here come the fun part, the Predator can climb to trees and stalk enemiens. In the beginning of the game you have no minimap UI. But you have an access through the iconic weapons of the Predator. Deadly Plasma Caster, Wrist blades, infrared vision and cloaking. You can use the infrared vision to track down the Fire Team but you will also pick up the heat signature of the NPC as well. The Fire Team can hide their heat signature but you can still hear their sound pings whenever they made a noise.

The Predator has a passive abilities called second wind, the Predator can gain health in this state but as a price you won’t be able to attack anybody. As a contribution into staying true to the movies, the predator can claim their trophy by ripping out skulls and spines after you done obliterate the Fire Team. When you are about to go down as the Predator, you can self destruct which cause a damage radius which is enough to kill a person or the entire team if they are not careful enough.  The only missing thing is the laughter from the Predator before he goes down.

The classes for the Fire Team are basically just loadouts. With this the players have the ability to build the class as much as they want. Not only the Fire Team, the predator will also have classes and customization to create your own style of predator. If simply removing skulls for a trophy seems boring to you, not to worry as the developers has so much in plan for that it will fill your bloodthirsty needs.

Predator Hunting Ground will available on PS4. The release date is unknown so keep an eye out for the game in 2020.
