After a long development period, Feral Interactive has finally launched ROME: Total War on Android. The mobile port of the classic PC strategy game launched for the iOS long before the Android version.
Feral Interactive first announced the Android version of ROME: Total War in November, 3 months after the release of the iOS version. Similar to the iOS version, the Android version features simplified control optimized for the mobile. Controlling your armies is now easier compared to the original controls. Players can now make and deliver orders with a simple tap on the screen.
The game will feature 19 playable factions for players to choose from. All these factions exists around the time of the Roman Empire, keeping the immersion and lore. Factions include the likes of Rome, Egypt, Gaul and Macedonia.
On the other hand, the campaign mode focuses on kingdom management, a system popular in multiple games such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Players need to manage their kingdom’s economy, civil and religious affairs. Each aspect carry negative aspects if not properly managed.
As mentioned last week, the game can only run on high-end phones due to the various features of the game especially the battle system. In order to manage the large armies on a single map, specifications have to be up to the task. The game can still run on Android 7.0 and 3GB RAM but may not be stable.
