To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Anno, Ubisoft is now giving away Anno 1602, the first game in the series for free! The classic city-builder was launched back in 1998, and you can now redeem it in Uplay before December 23 at 07:00 (local time).

Anno 1602 is set in the early modern period, where you can discover chains of islands, colonize them, and start building up an economy. You can also trade with your own colonies or other players to further develop your new world. The game focuses heavily on the economic aspects, but sometimes you will need to defend your islands against possible intruders too.

Here is how you can redeem the game:

1. Log in your Uplay application (download it if you haven’t).
2. Click on “Anno 1602 Giveaway!”.
3. Click on “Get your copy for free” and the game is added to your library!
