Command and Conquer Remastered announced

Classic real-time strategy game, Command and Conquer is getting a remaster. EA announced that they plan to remaster Command and Conquer and Red Alert in 4K.

For this task, EA enlisted the help of Petroglyph Games. After EA discontinued Westwood Studios, the former employees formed Petroglyoh Games. Furthermore, Frank Klepacki joined Petroglyph for this endeavor. He served as the composer for the original Command and Conquer. Now, he will enlist as music composer and audio director for the studio. Fans will be delighted to see that the original creators handle the the remastered version.

Unfortunately, the game will not come anytime soon. Producer Jim Vessela confirmed that the studio has not started on developing the game. However, there is a silver lining to this. He added that ” The community is literally getting in on the ground floor of this project and have every opportunity to help influence how we build this remastered experience.” The brings a possibility that fans will influence the direction the remaster will take.

Lastly, the Command and Conquer remastered series will not feature microtransactions. EA becameknown for introducing microtransactions in almost all their new games. Additionally, EA games which featured microtransactions received criticism. Hence it was not surprising to see fans become worried over it. Now, fans breathe a sigh of relief as the remastered series strays away from microtransactions.
