The game takes place in an alternate version of Tokyo in 1889, where magic is prevalent, and those who use it coexist with ordinary people. Players are put in the shoes of a low-ranking government employee who is unexpectedly assigned to the Special District Office, an organization that oversees Tokyo’s magical population.
What makes the game unique is that it tackles the administrative problems created by the city’s eccentric magical residents as opposed to focusing on playing as a magical image.
Gameplay-wise, Astrae Oratio combines 3D turn-based battles with visual novel-style story segments. Players can also have free will during the narrative segments by choosing different dialogues, suggesting that their decisions could play a role in how certain situations unfold.
The actual date for the upcoming CBT hasn’t been stated, but the devs have assured that both Android and iOS users will be able to access it. Android users will need at least a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and 6GB of RAM, while iOS devices require an A14 chip and 4GB of RAM. The game will also take up at least 10GB of storage.

Players can apply through the official website, with those lucky enough to be chosen in the lottery gaining access to the beta. Chosen players will receive confirmation and testing instructions by email after recruitment closes. The beta will also support Japanese voice acting and English text, and as for the game’s final release date, Astrae Oratio is currently scheduled sometime this year.
