Team Memolink’s horror adventure game, where you play as a cat trying to reunite with its owner, is making a splash in the indie scene on August 20. At its core, Meowmories is a story about the bond between the players and the eventual main protagonist, which is why the game allows name customization for both the owner and the cat.
The developers launched a free demo on June 9, introducing its core mechanics, including the ability to meow into the mic and temporarily stop monsters. You can also press a button to activate it, but where’s the fun in that?
According to its Steam page, players would have to constantly learn from their mistakes to overcome the nightmare riddling the brave feline. Every failure leads to discovering new info, such as enemy spawn points and helpful items’ locations, which the players could then use to overcome the situation.
The demo also showcased the feline’s swift nature, often slipping through narrow gaps and taking the high ground for temporary refuge. A handy scan ability is also great for pinpointing enemy and item locations, but activating it gives away the cat’s position, making it a risky but rewarding feature.

Meowmories has three different endings, which depend on the keepsake memories players stumble upon during their roughly two-to three-hour adventure. Furthermore, its three difficulty levels, Kitten, Cat, and Meowmare, push replayability.
Ultimately, Meowmories looks to combine its adorable feline protagonist with a surprisingly tense horror experience, all rendered in Unreal Engine 5. With its unique meow mechanic, multiple endings, and difficulty options, the game offers several reasons for players to have more than a single playthrough. Come August 20, cat lovers and horror fans alike will discover whether this unusual combination makes for a memorable adventure.
