Konami has confirmed that Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, the Apple Arcade exclusive entry in the Castlevania series, will end its service on September 3, 2026 The announcement was shared through the official Castlevania Japan account on X, which thanked players for their support since the game’s release. The news was also confirmed separately by Konami Asia through a Facebook post, which pointed to the same September 3 shutdown date. In that post, Konami Asia noted that Grimoire of Souls had been supported by many players since it launched, though this did not change the decision to end the service.

Grimoire of Souls originally had a soft launch back in 2019 before being taken offline about a year later. It returned in 2021 as an Apple Arcade exclusive, giving the game a second chance to reach players. With the upcoming shutdown, the game will be taken offline for what is effectively the second time in its history.
The shutdown comes at a time when the Castlevania franchise is gaining renewed attention ahead of the October release of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. Most older entries in the series remain playable today thanks to remaster collections, including the Dominus Collection, though that compilation only covers titles up through the Nintendo DS era. The series’ 3D games, along with Grimoire of Souls, are not part of any existing remaster collection, making them harder for players to access.
