Nintendo has confirmed that both the original Nintendo Switch and the newer Nintendo Switch 2 will officially launch in Indonesia this December 2026. The announcement was made during the Nintendo Business Conference held in the country, though the company has not yet revealed pricing details for either console.
Alongside the console news, Nintendo also reconfirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is still on track to release this year, keeping its previously stated timeline intact.
Pokemon fans in Indonesia also have something to look forward to, as Nintendo announced that all the latest Pokemon titles will be made available in the country alongside the Switch and Switch 2 launch. Among these is Pokemon Winds and Waves, which will release in Indonesia on the same day as its global release, giving local players day and date access to the game for the first time.
To support this rollout, Nintendo named Salim Group as the official distributor of its products in Indonesia. The partnership will oversee the local distribution of Nintendo consoles and games moving forward.
With the console launch, a major Zelda remake, and a full lineup of Pokemon titles all set for release around the same period, Indonesian gamers can expect a busy end of the year once more details, including pricing, are shared by Nintendo and Salim Group in the coming months. This comes as Nintendo continues to see strong performance across its game library, with the publisher recently confirming that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has already surpassed the total sales of its original 3DS version.
