Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds just dropped a new piece of downloadable content, and this time it’s teaming up with a franchise many fans grew up with: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The DLC adds four new playable characters: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo.
Each turtle is tied to a different racing type, with Leonardo representing Speed, Donatello covering Handling, Raphael taking on Power, and Michelangelo rounding things out with Acceleration. Fans of the original series will recognize the group instantly, since the designs keep the classic details intact, including Leonardo’s blue mask and twin katanas, Donatello’s purple mask and bo staff, Raphael’s red mask and sai, Michelangelo’s orange mask and nunchaku.
Those small touches make it easy to tell the brothers apart at a glance, even while racing.

A Familiar Ride Through New York City
Alongside the new characters comes a new Power-type vehicle called the Pizzafire Van. It’s modeled closely after the Pizza Fire Delivery Van that shows up throughout the turtles’ missions in the comics and TV series, and the recreation sticks close to the original design. Pizza has always been a running theme in the show, so seeing the van make its way into the game brings that same lighthearted spirit along with it. Taking it for a spin through the city streets adds to the overall feel of the crossover.

The DLC also introduces a new track set in New York City, built to reflect the turtles’ world. It includes busy city streets, chaos caused by monsters, and the sewers the brothers call home. Seeing the turtles charge through the course adds to the atmosphere, striking a balance between nostalgic callbacks and something that still feels fresh within the game.

First Impressions
Across the characters, vehicle, and track, this DLC pays close attention to detail, keeping the look and feel of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles intact. For players familiar with the franchise, it offers a solid and recognizable tribute worth checking out.
