The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has announced that Toshiya Miyata, a member of Japanese boy band Kis-My-Ft2, has been appointed as the Official Supporter for Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS2026). His appointment was marked by the release of an inaugural video message and an exclusive interview video on the official TGS YouTube channel.
In his interview, Miyata spoke openly about what gaming means to him. His introduction to video games came during a brief hospital stay in his early elementary school years, when his grandmother bought him a Game Boy and a Mario game to pass the time. He has been a fan ever since, with RPGs being a longtime favorite. He also mentioned a fondness for creature-raising games, particularly the Pokémon series, and currently counts Pokémon UNITE among his most-played titles, even joking that he considers himself the strongest Pokémon UNITE player in the Japanese entertainment industry and is open to challenges from fellow celebrities.
Miyata, born in 1988 in Kanagawa Prefecture, made his major-label CD debut in August 2011 as part of Kis-My-Ft2. Outside of music, he has built a career spanning dramas, films, variety shows, and radio, and has also worked as a voice actor. He is widely known within the entertainment industry for his passion for anime and gaming, and this year served as the Support Leader for the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2026. He is also one of the founding members of the YouTube channel “Hokago GAMING LIFE,” where he regularly streams gameplay across a wide variety of genres.

TGS2026 marks the event’s 30th anniversary, and Kis-My-Ft2 celebrates its 15th anniversary this year as well. Miyata acknowledged the coincidence and offered congratulations to everyone who has been part of keeping Tokyo Game Show running for three decades. In his new role, Miyata will take part in promotional activities both before and during the event, with a focus on sharing the energy of the show and spotlighting the latest titles on display. Video content featuring him will be released regularly on the official TGS YouTube channel and social media accounts leading up to TGS2026.
