Farming Simulator 26 has officially launched on Nintendo Switch, with publisher SEGA confirming it’s release. The latest entry in the long-running simulation franchise expands on its predecessor, offering a more structured progression system, new environments, and a wider range of farming activities.
The release also comes with an official launch trailer showcasing the game’s countryside environments and updated farming mechanics.
New Challenge System and Expanded Farming Progression

One of the key additions in Farming Simulator 26 is an all-new challenge system designed to guide progression while rewarding players for completing objectives. Instead of simply expanding farms at their own pace, players can now take on structured tasks that offer rewards tied to both weekly and seasonal cycles.
These challenges introduce more direction to gameplay, such as producing goods through production chains. For example, wheat can be transported to mills and factories to eventually produce finished goods like cakes, adding a more interconnected economic loop to the farming experience.
Two New Maps Set in Europe and North America

Farming Simulator 26 introduces two new maps inspired by locations in Europe and North America. These environments provide distinct farming conditions and layouts, allowing players to build and manage farms in different geographical settings.
The game continues to emphasize freedom in how players develop their farms, but the new map designs also support the expanded challenge system, helping structure long-term progression while maintaining sandbox flexibility.
Expanded Crops, Livestock, and Machinery Systems

Players can grow up to 15 different crop types while also engaging in forestry and livestock management. Animals such as cows, sheep, chickens, and goats return, alongside expanded production and logistics systems that deepen farm management strategy.
A major highlight remains the game’s extensive machinery lineup. Farming Simulator 26 features over 120 authentic vehicles and tools sourced from real-world manufacturers, including Kubota, Case IH, CLAAS, DEUTZ-FAHR, Fendt, John Deere, KRONE, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, and Valtra. These machines cover everything from tractors and harvesters to sprayers and other specialized farming equipment.
Improved Accessibility for New Players

The Nintendo Switch version of Farming Simulator 26 introduces several quality-of-life improvements aimed at making the game more approachable. A GPS guidance system and improved tutorial structure help new players learn core systems more efficiently, while still preserving the depth expected from the series.
This streamlined onboarding allows newcomers to experience the farming simulation genre without being overwhelmed by its systems, while returning players can still engage with its full complexity.
