Publisher Toei Animation and developer Studio51 have announced Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel. The new visual novel continues the story after the theatrical anime Expelled from Paradise. It will launch this winter on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. It will also support English and Japanese languages at release.
The game first appeared as a tease during AnimeJapan 2026. Now, the developers have confirmed full details. In addition, the project expands the original film’s universe with a new narrative focus on Angela and Dingo.
A Direct Sequel That Continues the Story

The visual novel focuses on narrative progression. It also builds on the themes of identity and artificial intelligence. As a result, the game expands the emotional and philosophical ideas from the original film.
Narrative-Focused Science Fiction Experience

The developers describe the game as a full-scale visual novel. It uses detailed writing and strong visual direction. In addition, it delivers a cinematic storytelling style similar to the original anime.
The narrative focuses on science fiction themes. For example, it explores human consciousness and artificial intelligence. Therefore, the game aims to create an immersive reading experience rather than traditional gameplay systems.
