Capcom has announced that PRAGMATA, its brand new original game, has reached over one million sales worldwide in just two days since its release on April 17, 2026.
What makes this milestone stand out is that PRAGMATA is a completely new IP, meaning it had no existing fan base or brand recognition to rely on heading into launch. To get the word out, Capcom rolled out several marketing moves, including releasing a playable demo early so players could get a feel for the game before buying it. Capcom has also made the game available on Nintendo Switch 2 as part of its multi-platform strategy, widening the pool of players who could access it. Though the Nintendo Switch 2 version in Japan and other parts of Asia is set to release on April 24.

The game was built primarily by a younger group of Capcom developers, making the milestone all the more notable given the circumstances. PRAGMATA is a sci-fi action-adventure game that follows Hugh Williams and Diana, an android girl, as they navigate a near-future world set on the moon. The game blends action gameplay with puzzle elements, all set in a world dominated by artificial intelligence.
The PRAGMATA development team shared their thoughts on reaching the milestone.
“PRAGMATA represents a new challenge for Capcom, built from the ground up with an original world and gameplay concept. We are truly delighted that so many players around the world have enjoyed the game, enabling us to reach this milestone of one million units sold. Moving forward, we will continue making every effort to deliver the appeal of PRAGMATA to an even broader audience.”

Capcom said it remains committed to delivering high-quality gameplay experiences using its game development capabilities.
