Netmarble has shared a closer look at gameplay for Mongil: Star Dive during an online showcase held before its global launch on April 15. The upcoming monster-taming action RPG is set to release worldwide on PC through the Epic Games Store and on mobile. The showcase was presented by developers Dong Jo Lee and Dong Ki Kang, who were joined by VTuber MiFlat and creator TesterHoon to go over the game’s systems and take questions from players.
One of the main focuses of the presentation was the “Monsterling Collection” system. It lets players capture, collect, and synthesize creatures throughout the game. Battles are fought with a three-character party that you can switch between on the fly, with the game leaning into manual play. Mechanics like hitting weak points and breaking enemy parts change how fights go based on how well you know each character you’re using.
Netmarble also laid out plans for content beyond release. Episode 6 is already being worked on and will take the story into a Far East setting. A console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox is also in the pipeline following the initial PC and mobile launch. On the events side, the publisher is planning offline activities including pop-up stores and themed spaces, as well as regional events like a café collaboration in Taiwan.

At release, a character named Esther will be introduced as the first event summon. Players can earn rewards through in-game events, including profile backgrounds and progression items. A showcase coupon code is also available that gives out the “Artifact: Overflowing Love.” The presentation also went beyond gameplay in Mongil: Star Dive and gave a first look at the Legendary Monster called Reginula, described as a high-level target tied to tougher combat challenges.
