The Pokémon Company has officially confirmed that Pokémon Champions will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 8, 2026. The game, which is also available on mobile devices (iOS and Android), will now be playable on Nintendo’s home console as well. Players can get the base game or opt for the Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack, a bundle that includes the base game alongside some in-game benefits. Both will be available on the same day.

Three New Mega Evolutions Join the Roster
Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr, which first appeared in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, are also making their way into Pokémon Champions. Each of them comes with their own ability.
Mega Meganium – Mega Sol: This is a brand new Ability introduced in Pokémon Champions. When a Pokémon with Mega Sol uses a move, it acts as though the weather is harsh sunlight, even if it isn’t.
Mega Emboar – Mold Breaker: A returning Ability. Mega Emboar’s moves will ignore the Abilities of opposing Pokémon, letting it hit through effects that would normally block or reduce its attacks.
Mega Feraligatr – Dragonize: Another new Ability making its debut in this title. Dragonize converts Mega Feraligatr’s Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves and also boosts the power of those moves by 20%.
For anyone playing Pokémon Champions on the Nintendo Switch 2, a free update will be available that improves the game’s graphics. You will need an internet connection to download the update, but it won’t cost anything extra.
