Compile Heart has officially announced Neptunia Unlimited, the next mainline entry in the long-running Neptunia series. This marks the first main series follow-up to Megadimension Neptunia VII, and it’s coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game is set to launch in Japan on August 27, priced at 8,580 yen. It is worth noting that the PlayStation 4 version will be available as a digital-only release.
A limited edition is also confirmed, going for 19,800 yen. It comes with the game, a special box featuring packaging artwork by series illustrator Tsunako, a premium art book, a soundtrack CD, the Season Pass, and a Divine Cross promotional card.
The new game follows Neptune as the world faces its end, triggered by what’s described as a “first meteorite.” Left alone in a white void, Neptune receives a mysterious mark on her cheek and a power called “Retry,” which pulls her into a loop of endings and new beginnings. Together with her allies, she must push through repeated defeats and face what the game calls the “True End” to save the world. The story takes the Goddesses across a new spacetime in their effort to stop the coming doom.
Several familiar faces return alongside some new ones. Neptune and her Goddess form Purple Heart are voiced by Rie Tanaka. New characters include Rouge (Red Heart) voiced by Hana Shimano, Ciel (Blue Heart) voiced by Momoka Terasawa, and Anna and Lot who share the Eclipse Heart identity, voiced by Yukino Nishizono. Returning characters Noire, Blanc, and Vert are voiced by Asami Imai, Kana Asumi, and Rina Satou respectively.

Two systems have been highlighted so far. The first is called Flying Goddesses, which lets players take flight freely and introduces enemies and mechanics tied specifically to aerial combat. The second is End Battles, large-scale fights where all Goddesses participate against a massive End Boss. These battles include a mechanic called End Counter Skills, which can be used both to block the boss’s powerful attacks and to deal heavy damage back.
No Western release date or pricing has been announced at this time.
