Natsume has officially announced Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, the next entry in the long-running farming simulation franchise. The upcoming title is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, although an official release date has not yet been revealed.
The announcement introduces a brand-new setting, fresh gameplay mechanics, and expanded exploration features, promising to evolve the classic farming life formula that the Harvest Moon series is known for. Alongside farming and relationship-building, players will also venture across the mysterious land of Teradea to restore balance to a world shrouded in a strange mist.
A New Journey in the Land of Teradea

In Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, players begin their adventure in Bloomfield Village, where they were raised. Recently, the region has been engulfed by the mysterious mist of the Forest of Echoes, causing unusual events across the land. Wild wolves have begun roaming at night, and rumors speak of a powerful guardian wolf leading them.
Together with your best friend, you decide to confront the threat and tame the wolves. However, what begins as a simple mission soon grows into a much larger adventure. Players will embark on a journey to assist the Guardian Spirits in reviving and restoring the land of Teradea.
Throughout the story, players will travel to several distinct locations. The port village of Tidewind is struggling with violent storms, while the mining town of Quarrytop faces mysterious earthquakes. Meanwhile, the once-thriving cultural hub of Maplehill has fallen into decline, and it will be up to players to help restore its community and vitality.
Farming Life Meets Exploration

While exploration plays a larger role in Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, the series’ signature farming gameplay remains at the heart of the experience. Players can grow crops, raise animals, and gradually build their farm while developing relationships with the villagers they encounter along the way.
The game introduces new exploration abilities that allow players to reach areas that were previously inaccessible. Characters can jump to hidden locations, climb ladders, and scale vines to gather resources scattered throughout the environment. These additions aim to make exploration feel more dynamic while encouraging players to fully explore Teradea’s landscapes.
Another major addition is the Animal Companion System, which allows players to bring pets and farm animals along during their travels. Each animal companion has unique abilities that can assist with exploration or reaching hidden locations, creating new opportunities for discovery across the world.
Surviving the Untamed Wilderness

Unlike previous entries in the series, Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea places a stronger emphasis on the dangers of the natural world. While exploring beyond safe village areas, players may encounter wild animals such as wolves, bears, and tigers.
Instead of traditional combat mechanics, the focus is on avoiding these threats. Players must stay alert and escape from dangerous encounters to prevent losing valuable items they have collected during their journey. If caught, players will be sent back to their farm, making exploration a risk-and-reward system.
Discover Islands and Rare Creatures

Another new feature highlighted by Natsume is the ability to explore remote islands. By collecting nautical charts, players can set sail to uncover hidden islands scattered throughout the region.
These locations offer opportunities to search for treasure and encounter rare animals that cannot be found on the mainland. This system encourages players to expand their adventures beyond the central landmass of Teradea.
Building Relationships and Happilia

Relationships remain a core pillar of the Harvest Moon experience. In Echoes of Teradea, players can form bonds with villagers and pursue romance with ten new love interests, consisting of five bachelors and five bachelorettes.
Helping villagers and contributing to the development of Teradea also rewards players with Happilia, a system tied to improving communities and strengthening relationships across the region. As friendships deepen and seasons change, the mystery behind the mist covering the Forest of Echoes will gradually unfold.
More Details Coming Soon
